Students of CNLU bring laurels to the University: Win National Level Moot Court Competition

A three member team comprising Jayanti Bhaskar, Vagisha Pragya and Vibhanshu Srivastava represented CNLU at the Tenth Law Centre I All India National Moot Court Competition 2011 and were adjudged the winners of the competition. They were declared as the best team among the 26 teams from all over India including NLIU Bhopal, GLC Mumbai, GNLU, RGNLU, RMLNLU and ILS Pune. It was a two day event organized by the Law Centre I of the Delhi University.
The CNLU team presenting the theme on Hindu Law, defeated the teams of other distinguished law schools including the team of GLC Mumbai and the team of Law Centre-I and reached the finals. In the final round the CNLU team outshined NLIU Bhopal to secure its rank as the best team of the Competition. The speakers for the team were Jayanti and Vagisha while the third member Vibhanshu was the researcher for the team. The final round of the competition was judged by the Hon’ble Judges of Delhi High Court. The University administration and the students are overwhelmed with this achievement of the participants.
Prof. Dr. A. Lakshminath, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of CNLU handed over the winning trophy to the team and congratulated them on their success. He also said that this achievement is a just the starting and this winning momentum should be carried forward. Dr. S.P. Singh, the Registrar while congratulating the students said that the students should inculcate among themselves the winning spirit and that only will take the University to the heights of success. Acknowledging the support of Prof. Dr. K.N. Poddar, Ex-Principal of Patna Law College, in the preparation of their memorials, Mr. Manoranjan Kumar, the Faculty Advisor of the Moot Court Committee, said that this achievement has set a tone for CNLU for the future success and this is a motivation the other students of CNLU.
