Library Resources

The CNLU Library hosts a robust and opulent collection of primary and secondary legal materials, covering core areas of law and a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary subjects including Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Management, Linguistics, and Literature. These resources are available in both print and digital formats to meet the academic and research needs of students, faculty, and scholars.

Print Collection

The Nishant Nilayam houses over 21,000 volumes, comprising textbooks, legal commentaries, treatises, national and international journals, law reports, bare acts, reference works, legal encyclopaedias, dictionaries, digests, and more. A curated collection of English and Hindi literary fiction is also available for recreational reading.

Resources are systematically classified and arranged on open-access shelves as per the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system. Bay guides indicating subject areas and DDC numbers are provided to assist users in locating materials. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables users to search and access bibliographic records of books, bare acts, theses, journal back volumes, and reports with ease. To streamline daily operations such as cataloguing, circulation, and acquisitions, the library employs KOHA, an open-source Integrated Library Management System.

Periodicals and Subscriptions

The Library subscribes to a wide array of academic publications and reporting services relevant to law and allied disciplines. This includes both national and international journals, along with reputed magazines and newspapers, to ensure users stay updated with current legal discourse and socio-political developments.

Electronic Resources

Complementing the print collection, the Library provides access to a rich selection of electronic databases comprising e-books, e-journals, reports, and other digital academic content. All electronic resources are accessible both on-campus and remotely, ensuring seamless access for all users.
