Aditya Roy is an Assistant Professor in Law at Chanakya National Law University, Patna. Aditya has submitted his Ph.D. on the topic “UNCLOS Tribunals and the determination of Jurisdiction over Incidental Questions – A Critical Analysis”. Before submitting his Ph.D., he did his M.Phil., on the topic “Jurisdiction of Indian Courts and BIT Arbitration: Reflections from Indian Law” from the Faculty of Legal Studies, South Asian University in 2022. He completed his LL.M. in Public International Law from Faculty of Legal Studies, South Asian University in 2017 and did his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Chanakya National Law University, Patna in 2015.
Aditya has also taught as an Assistant Professor at School of Law Justice and Governance, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida from 2018-2019 and also worked as a Research Fellow (Legal) at Centre for WTO Studies, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi from 2017-2018. He has submitted amicus briefs to the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court as well as presented his Ph.D. topic at Edinburgh Law School, The University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. He is an Associate Member of the Indian Society of International Law. His areas of interest are Public International Law, International Trade Law, International Investment Law, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law and Law of the Sea. He has also published on The Wire and the Indian Blog of International Law.
