About
Nidhi Kumari is an Assistant Professor at Chanakya National Law University, Patna. She joined the university in the year 2020 and has since been actively engaged in teaching, academic research, institutional responsibilities, and capacity-building initiatives. Her academic engagement reflects a strong commitment to legal education, socio-legal research, and professional development in contemporary areas of law.
She is currently serving as the Convenor of the SC/ST Cell at Chanakya National Law University, Patna.

Teaching / Research Experience
Since joining CNLU in 2020, she has been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate legal education. Her teaching experience spans across core and specialised areas of law, with an emphasis on doctrinal clarity and practical understanding. Her research interests align with socio-legal issues, gender justice, land rights, and regulatory frameworks.
Area of Interest
Her areas of academic interest include Insurance Law, Family Law, Right to Information, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, Comparative Administrative Law, Aviation Law, Law of Torts, Motor Vehicles Act, and Consumer Protection Law.
Publications
Nidhi is an academic and researcher whose work involves socio-legal issues, gender justice, intellectual property, and agricultural and labour studies. Her scholarship reflects an interdisciplinary orientation, combining legal analysis with socio-economic inquiry.
She has contributed to academic scholarship through peer-reviewed journal articles and edited volumes, including publications indexed in SCOPUS and UGC-approved journals. She has authored a book chapter titled “Socio-Economic Impact of Landless Labourers in Bihar” in the edited volume Framing Without Fields: Landlessness and Agricultural Livelihoods, edited by K. Syam Prasad, Sanjay Paswan, and Anil Nath, which examines the structural and livelihood challenges faced by landless communities in Bihar.
She has also published a research article entitled “Role of Judiciary in Empowering Women in India” in the International Journal of Research and Analytical Reviews (IJRAR), Volume 11, Issue 3 (July 2024), a UGC-approved journal, where she analyses the evolving role of constitutional courts in advancing women’s rights. In addition, she has also authored an article in the Journal of Carcinogenesis (Scopus Index) Volume 24, Issue 3 (2025), titled “The Evolution and Significance of Protecting Appellation of Origin”, in which she explored the development and legal significance of geographical indications and appellations of origin.
She has also actively participated in academic conferences and seminars. She presented her research on the role of the judiciary in women’s empowerment at a conference organised by the Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law and Governance, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya. She also attended the national seminar on “Land, Landless and Agriculture” jointly organised by Kabeer ke Log and the Department of Economics, A.N. College, Pataliputra University, Patna, and has participated in several national and international webinars on contemporary socio-legal issues.
She has further strengthened her academic and pedagogical engagement through multiple faculty development and capacity-building programmes. These include the 30-day Online Faculty Induction Programme (FIP) organised by UGC-HRDC, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Grade A+), faculty development programmes at ICFAI University and Chanakya National Law University, and specialised workshops on intellectual property rights, media law, experiential legal learning, and the commercialisation of medicinal plants.
Her academic work reflects a sustained commitment to socially grounded, empirically informed legal scholarship that is attentive to issues of justice, development, and institutional responsibility.
Honours / Awards / Membership
She is a Member of the Board of Directors at CNLU Innovation, Incubation and Legal Entrepreneurships, Bihar State Government. She also serves as a Member of the Alumni Committee at Chanakya National Law University.
Visiting Faculty / Guest Lectures / Keynote Address
She served as a Resource Person at a National Conference organised by CARCIL in collaboration with the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India, held on 21 September 2024.
Other Accomplishments
She successfully completed the 2nd Edition of the Advanced Certificate Course on Space and Aviation Law, organised by The Legal Voice in collaboration with the Centre for Air and Space Policy, Indonesia, held from July 12 to July 20, 2025.
